IRS overhaul
Dear friends, I have now completed the overhaul of the IRS and as suggested, I am posting some pictures before and after. In the beginning,
I decided to attend to a small oil leak in the final drive unit and fit new rear discs (rotors) and to see what else needed sorting out.
The final drive was sent to a specialist and he replaced the bearings and oil seals. I sent most of the parts away for shot blasting and then powder coating. I overhauled the handbrake calipers, rear calipers, fitted new discs, and pads. I painted the calipers and hubs with silver caliper spray paint. Fitted new Inner fulcrum bearings, new wheel bearings and outer fulcrum bearings & oil seals. New universal joints, new radius bushes. New bolts and nuts were used in many places. New bump stops are ready to fit.
Whilst the cage was out I took the opportunity to replace the fuel pipes as they were quite corroded. I used 3/8 inch & 1/4 Kunifer for the vent, feed and return, silver soldering the Tee joint was quite easy in the end.
I am looking forward to the installation and road testing! I thank the members whose advice has helped me. Kind regards, Danny.

That looks awesome! Hope you can keep it that clean!
Mine is out right now as it happens - but a single UJ is (fortunately) all that I found to be worn amongst the various bearings (seal had broken) - so as soon as I get my rebuilt calipers and diff plus the new rotors and seals I should hopefully be good to go.
