Default Jaguar coupe restomods

There was discussion between several people in the comments section of the recent XJ Coupe sale on BAT about connecting those that also own or are building XJ coupe restomod projects but I didn't see a thread started so I decided to start one. Post your car and the details and introduce yourself!

Got a little thread happy after the auction so my thread got buried a few down. Let’s hope we can get a few more from BAT to join up. I’ll post some pics of my EROD build when I’m back to my desktop.

@LS3COUPE Sorry I searched for a dedicated thread but didn't see one so I just started one! Agreed. I wish BAT had a community aspect to it for people to connect since it certainly draws the attention of many really cool car enthusiasts!

Here's my coupe and my other Jag, a 72 sedan without any modifications. The coupe was actually built by another member on this forum and sold on BAT back in 2019 so you may recognize it. I ended up with it after the BAT buyer resold it on eBay a year or so later. It's now gone back to it's creator for some very exciting changes including a 5 speed manual and supercharged XJR6 engine.

Nice! That's the one that icsamerica did! Absolutely gorgeous and an amazing build. The things that were done and engineered on that car are crazy.

This was my before:

Here it is in primer:

And finished with initial painting:

@LS3COUPE Beautiful! I love the color! There's another guy here in AZ working on a coupe in black with LS motor but doing an automatic I believe. I should send him this thread. There are more of these out there than you might think.

It looks black in the shade but it's actually a very dark metallic blue. Almost a dead ringer for BMW Azurite Black. I really like the blue on that LS1 that just sold but all my classic cars basically have the same dark navy blue paint. There's just something so appealing to me when it looks black at night but a beautiful, deep shade of blue in the sun.

The restomods are beautiful, but in my case, at 78, time left & money would preclude such an adventure !
