My honest opinion here.
Look up JDHT (Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust) in the UK.
They can give you a "birth certificate" for your car. This gives all teh build details, inc engine/trans/diff numbers, factory colours, etc, etc.
A friend here has one for all his Classic Jags/Daimlers.
I believe there is a cost, but with that RARE car, it is well worth whatever they charge.

I was going to buy an XJC, but couldn't find one, then found out they only made 5400 of them. So I started looking for an XJS instead. When I finally got to sit in an XJC after buying an XJS I much prefer the XJS for its very private cabin. You can be seen in the XJ Coupe from a whole 360, but can be hidden quite well in the XJS. Someone has to be facing you thru the windshield or almost squatting to look into either side window, and they cannot see you at all from the windows in the rear seats, or the back window.
As female driver this is very comforting to have the XJS wrap itself around you to remain almost hidden without tinted windows!
If a cop pulls you over, they have to come right up to the drivers window to see you, that would include car jacking creeps!
