Hello!!
So i havent taken the plunge yet and still rock the original radio in my XJ6 87.
The FM is not worming so it limits me but i do have the tape player.
I was in a frith store and found these 3 beauties for 25 cents for all 3!!!
Just so happens they are 3 of my fav bands growing up!
What are you guys rocking tune wise??

I grew up listening to progressive rock like Yes and early Genesis and then gravitated to the neo-progressive movement of the 80s. Sometimes described as rock music for listening, not dancing, my personal favorites today are particularly in the style of the extended multi-movement symphony. I would prefer to listen to a whole album from beginning to end tho I seldom have time. That's why I like the one to two hour long highway trips. Back in the 80s I liked groups like Marillion and Asia. We had a cool, used record store and I bought lots of vinyl. In the 90s I discovered the Magna Carta label and started ordering CDs of bands like Shadow Gallery and Royal Hunt. More recently since the XF pairs with my Iphone, I've been listening online to groups like IZZ, Elbow, Big Big Train, Edison's Children, Frost* and IQ. Occasionally in the XJ8, I'll actually bring some old cassettes of King Crimson, UK or Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Coincidentally I do tend to gravitate toward British bands, but occasionally branch out and might listen to a little Midas (Japanese). Although I have my favorite genre, I remember fondly Tears for Fears, Duran Duran and Fleetwood Mac as those were the pop groups of my era. One of my favorite TV shows was Miami Vice, mostly for the Daytona replica, but also because each episode would feature a selection of music that I probably wouldn't have heard on our local radio. I only wish I had musical talent so I could play some myself.

Clapton, Led Zep, Credence, Floyd, Cat Stevens, Deep purple, Stones, Free, ACDC, Steve Miller, Dylan, Marley, Lennon, Violent Femmes, Offspring, Green Day, Jet, Cold Chisel, and my 300 other favourite albums. They all get a spin.
No Beetles, don't even have a Beetles song in my CD's.

Hey Chris,
Fun post. You scored with those cassettes. Love Tears for Fears and Tango in the Night is a great album.
My love for Jags started when I was a teenager and my parents got a then new ‘77XJ12L. Amazing car! Anyway, it had an 8 track player and in the mid 70’s Earth, Wind, & Fire came out with their live album, Gratitude. I used to rock that album in my parents’ car in LA driving with the windows down and the sunroof open. Sun Goddess and Reasons are fantastic songs! To this day, sometimes I love to play that album in my car, especially in my VDP because it’s so similar to my parents’ old Jag. Yes, I still crank it and put the windows down and open the sunroof! :-)
I put put a new stereo in my car and stream music from my iPhone now and lately I’ve mostly been listening to Dave Matthews. But you’ll also find me listening to The Beatles, Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Elton John, The Kinks, Frank Sinatra, Tears for Fears, Hootie and the Blowfish, and a disco playlist.
Cheers!
Danny

AYE, AYE. Brigs back a couple f memories. The gal in the gossamer gown was/is Tawny Kitane. Good looking, for sure.
Alas, things went well and not so well ln later years. Saw her in a substance along with some other celeberties. A TV show. although probably no longer as lithe as in the White Snake days, still very attractive.
Jaguar having a hissy !!!
Last time, out a Marty Robbins cassette "with the big gun on his hip". And the man in the continental suit and the bronc that couldn't be rode,,
