Yarpos:

****!!!

The other day, I saw a banner across the top of my screen. It offered to update my Mozilla!!! I fell for it. Yipes, here came a big old **** site. I could not dump it by conventional means!!!

So, I restarted my machine. Thankfully, the garbage was gone. I'm far from a prude, but, at it's best, what other evils were there. Tons, I expect.

I got a "new" toy the other day. I went to a local thrift. Operated to support women in crisis. Definitely, a good cause. I donated a big bag of good stuff that I can no longer use. No rags, good stuff.

I was looking for a "work jacket". Cold weather on the way. No luck. Lots of apparent new odd lot donations. Only one got close. But fur on the collar!!!! Naah, I see why it was not sold at the original store, whatever it might be....

But, I sucumbed to the lure of an old digital camera. Why, don't ask.
Sony Digital Mavica. A mere 1.3 pixela. But, MPEGMOVIE capable.
and the recording feature is to 3 1/2 floppies. Old stuff, oh yeah.
But, guess what, this old Dell has a 3 1/2 drive slot.... It came with several of them. I gotta slide them in and see if anything is on them!!! I hope that doesn't pry on someone's privacy.

It is kinda clunky when compared to my old Olympus and Canon
cameras!!!

I have one of those and it still works great especially with it set to "finest resolution" Coupled with a piece of old software Macromedia Fireworks Graphics you can do a lot with photos

XJ6Jonny,
Thanks. Guys with similar engine builds are putting out between 500-600 rwhp and of course torque a lil' lower than that with a 78/75 turbo. I'm looking to run 91 octane with conservative boost(10lbs?) to keep detonation down and that's going to keep me on the low side of that range. It's basically going to be a very stock build except for forged rods/pistons, heavier valve springs, head studs and bigger injectors. I'm using Sloppy Mechanics and LS1tech builds for guides. My goal is to catch a few people out at stoplight grands prix and some "Holy Jesus!!!!!" moments with passengers. Should be fun.

Also, using 1983turbojaguarxj6's intercooler setup as inspiration for my intercooler setup.

Junkyard special engine.

I think I'll end up lumping it once the car reaches 300K. I have about 250K now so it should give me ample time to plan it out.

Default It,s not finished but I,ve been taking my girlfriend out to lunch with it.

The car has been up and running since last June but many refit's and reworks had to be done. Getting the drive shaft level and square took me to a new education level. The air conditioning had to be moved to the other side but I am proud to report. 46 degree F at a cruise at 94 degree ambient temp in August with R-134a Freon. I am on to the exhaust utilizing the 95 XJR-6 catalytic converter hooking up to a new stock exhaust. Found a company that is making me new cushion covers for the seats. Got plenty to do still.

May I suggest some low dollar parts that look expensive... R&M wire looms and some custom length wires. I made my own custom wires, it was much lower cost and easier than I thought.

Most of that is probably coming from the oil cooler hoses!

Gboy:

Nice work. I see that you are not far up the road. How do you plan to deal with CA's gawdawful smog regs. They stifle more than they fix.

Last month's Hot Rod had a nice piece on a similar turbo on SBC install. A kit, nonetheless. Some parts made sense, others not so much. Fixes needed.

Default K& N air filter part # please?

Will use a plenum cap with a air hose connection... short tube or piece of tubing to connect the two.
Hello Roger, I would like to follow you as to your air filter idea, But have been unable to locate a K&N air filter in a flat cone type shape as shown in your photo lay out. any other photo or information would greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello Roger, I would like to follow your idea of the air cleaner in front of the radiator but have been unable to find that flat cone shape that you have. Any part # or photo's to show?

JagCad:

Sorry, I was just cruzin' this thread and saw your question(better late than never?). It's a '72, no smog. And yes, I'm just over Kirker Pass from you. Hopefully you weren't too close to yesterdays fire.

I've found you can't use Quick Reply and insert pics; only Advanced. My engine compartment above:
