Local Jag Club display day...

I took "The Duchess" along to our local annual Jag Club display day yesterday. She was soon in great company, lined up among some very suitable stable mates. Around 300 hundred Jags were on display with the Series XJ's easily the most represented in a seemingly endless line up...

A perfect spring day makes all the difference Clarke!
In pic 3, slightly left of centre between the red and white S3's, is a BRG S1, It's manual with a racing clutch, a stock engine & triple carbs. Driven by a delightful young lady who loves the car, and has even driven on track days up at Winton.
Great to see examples of young people totally enthused by "real" cars, and does wonders for our "slightly" older ego's! Reminded me of Clarke jnr. soon to be driving your own chariot - and hopefully appreciating it!!

He dropped by to pick a up steering wheel and reverse lights, returning what is not original on his car. You would have seen his car in the XJ forum.

I did spot the S1 in the pics.
Ed will be appreciating Fireball, still a bit for him to get used to with manual choke and cold starts etc. Just things that are natural to us as we grew up driving old cars,he's done a lot of miles in the modern Jeep. But that will all come quickly when he is off driving on his own.

Aussies seem to be generally more sociable than Mercans. Any excuse for a gathering as far as I can see.
Few Californians could be bothered with a car so old, I think. There are about 10:1 Chevy, Ford, Dodge combined to any model of Jaguar in any general car show I've attended since I came to this part of the world. Most shows have No Jaguars.
And, although I'm now sensitized to any Jaguar I see (as are my friends), most of them are Forduars and don't even nod when we meet. To them, a Jag is just cheap transportation.
Next Spring, I'm going to try to find more shows and gatherings so Nix can get to know some of her extended family.

This is as many Jags as would ever be seen in any one place in Aus, and of course it was a Jag specific day - all kindred spirits, human and mechanical! Everything from rare SS / Swallow to F Type, and all models in between.
I know Jag associations are big in Canada, but I hope you can manage to find one in California. Cats may be individual critters, but they look so good in litters...

Hey LnrB,
Seeing that you are heading into winter, you should put Nix on a boat to Australia and follow her over for a month or so.
Lots of cats to see here and friendly Aussies to have a drink with as we are coming into our summer and lots more reasons to catch up!
Cheers,
Nigel

Oh, Boy Howdy, would I Love to do that! Work will soon be almost nonexistent, husband almost has the well back in operation, and Nix is now the dependable, reliable car we thought we were getting 2 years ago. I can take her Anywhere Anytime (when it's not raining). Besides that, I HATE winter.

The only real problem I can see is that you guys all drive on the wrong side of the road!! I'm not sure Nix could adapt. Cats are creatures of habit, ya know. It might seriously damage her psyche.

I was about to claim that my portland beige xj6 must be rare because there certainly wasn't many in the first 4 photos! haha But alas there were a few :P
Here's mine. It must not have been a common colour I reckon.
Awesome photos too! So many XJ6 haha, love it.
