Default ? location of the engine coolant sensor ?

hi: my temperature gauge is buried in zero. it was functioning until i changed the fan, a/c and alternator belts yesterday. i must have inadvertently unplugged the sensor while working in the engine bay.

where is the coolant temperature sensor that provides the signal to the gauge itself located on the engine (87 xj6)? i've traced the path i took to replace the belts but don't see anything disconnected. tx, ren

It's on the water rail with the other coolant sensors, second from the front. Single wire connector. Green wire, as I recall

Cheers

Thanks Doug. Problem resolved by swapping sensor out. Not sure what happened? I wasn't even working in that area. Oh well, everything works.
