Hello,

I'm looking for the small end piece that attaches to the door trim. I think they are part of the chrome side finishers. Does anyone know if the trim or just these end pieces these are available somewhere?

 

I always thought those were aftermarket strips? They looked like the same bits used on other cars during the same era, of course now they're old enough to be nla. Boger and others will probably know.

 

Any and all side trim items are aftermarket, not Jaguar OEM parts. They are visually disruptive in that, if applied, they are the first thing to catch the eye - the Series I-III cars are designed to have an unbroken “eye-sweep” from front to rear.
The side strips were often dealer-installed at the request of owners but they were NEVER original factory-fitted items.

Most of these strips are attached simply by an adhesive backing, and are quite easily removed with heat and gentle persuasion. Some strips were fitted using rivets.

 

Aftermarket, yes. All the rage decades ago. But….there are probably still some suppliers out there.

Google ‘vinyl aluminum side moldings’ or similar

I replaced mine a couple of years ago with new ones purchased from "Custom Auto Trim" here in the US.
Go to their website and type CHAN75 molding. You will see the actual aluminum trim, the vinyl inserts and the finishers you are looking for.
Their customer service dept reps are very good and once you tell them year, make and model, they will know exactly what you are looking for.

 

Or...you might consider removing them so the car looks the way it should (!):

 

Thank you everyone. This is helpful info. While I do prefer the original look, this car has both the aftermarket wheel fender trim and these side moldings so we're trying to fix up what's there.

 

Unfortunately this is quite a financial commitment. I can virtually promise that the molding in question is the rivet-on type so removing them means a trip to the body shop to have 40 or so holes filled and repainting the sides of the car.

On the bright side there is a stopgap choice. There are many style of molding available in a slew of colors. Most of them self-adhesive and more attractive (less unattractive?) than the riveted-on-aluminum-extrusion type. A fellow could remove what's there and apply new molding over the holes.

Hmm. I'm thinking it's a matter of Personal Taste, besides the financial commitment mentioned above.
My car came to me with these bumpers and I rather like them (along with the much-hated Mercan bumper extensions). I wouldn't remove them even if they weren't riveted in place.
