NEED ADVICE! Dayton rims for 1987 jaguar xj6
This is my first post. I recently bought a 1987 jaguar XJ6. Two days later I had a ticket to the shop because one of the gas pumps stopped working anyways it’s been at the shop for almost a month. Thankfully they are experts in European cars. I’ve tasked them to check everything on the car. Fluids, AC, tires, etc. Thankfully, the car is in beautiful condition. The interiors are immaculate. it just needs a real strong TLC, tune up and care. I’m really glad I can provide that.
What I need help on is this: I I just purchased Dayton wire rims that have spines and need an adapter - the adapter I just purchased is too big and doesn’t have splines - again. This is a learning curve for me. I’m not a big car guy, but I really want to learn as much as I can about this jaguar.
can anyone help me trying to find an adapter that will allow me to fit these rims on my car? I believe these rims are for an ETA but I really want wire type rims and since I already bought them I want to try as hard as I can make it work.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
thank you!

If I was going to do this, I would start with the splined hubs from a 420. Those would have the greatest chance of fitting to your XJ6 - but it's not guaranteed.
Then you have to worry about wheel offset and making sure the rims you bought don't rub the body or suspension components.
This is not a plug and play operation unless you sell the spline drive wire wheels you have and go with bolt-on wire wheels.

Call Dayton, they will get you sorted.
I have their wires on my S1, and I looked for ages to find anyone who knew what I had so I could get a spare....round and round I went with 5 or 6 people until I was finally sent to them. I sent a few photos of one of the wheels (back side too) to them, and within minutes they were on the case.
I assume you're aware that those teeth on the adapters index a correspondingly large toothed ring on the inside of the wheel, and NOT the fine splines you see on the inside bore of a std. Dunlop wheel.
Just ring up Dayton, and they'll tell you what you need to do.

Good luck!
