new guy
hey, everyone this is my first post!
my father is giving me his 1985 jaguar xj6 black with spoke wheels! man,it's beatiful and i cant wait to get it.he bought it from the original owner, a family friend 6 years ago.all i had to do was 404.00 dollars worth of work to my step mothers suburban, at the shop i work in and it's mine!
it's been sitting in his garage for three years now but,it runs its, just got a
lower coolant hose leaking.the only thing wrong with it besides the coolant leak is a rip in the drivers seat, the seam is splitting.
i cant wait to get it,i'm so excited.

original color
yes, black is the orginal color and it still looks beautifiul.as soon as she comes home and i fix her coolant leak i'll post some pictures.looks wise all she needs is that seat fixed.yes i am mechanically inclined.i was the alignment man at my shop for 6 of the 13 years i've been here. i also have a good friend who was one of our techs, whos a jag mechanic.he told me any question or help i need to just call him.
everybody has told me not to get it,that its a piece of crap except him,he loves them and,he told me i'll really enjoy it.he restored an xke when he was a kid growing up in california.
my dad bought the car from the orginal owner, one of his martial arts students who also,is a family friend of like 15 years,it was his daily driver at one time.i've know the car for a long time.my dad has all its documentation.the only major problems he had with the car is wiring problems (imagine that) when it was fairly new lol but, they have all been repaired by the jag dealer here in atlanta ga

Welcome to the club DJ. The excitement you have now for owning it will never go away. I don't care how many are out there or how cheap they are selling for. IMO the XJ6 is one of the best if not the best all around 4 door c@r ever produced.
Yes, I'm editing the way I type c@r because I hate the stupid advertisement links that this site decided to allow!

super car
my,dad also had a 1992 xj6 for a couple of years, that i had front brakes, 4 tires and and alignment done on at the shop.when it was done my step-mother paid for it over the phone with her credit card and told me to keep it for 2 weeks and enjoyed it!
it really was a super car, drove like a dream! my dad said "be careful with it you will not even realize what speed your driving" sure enough i was driving it around, looked down and i was doing 80mph. it felt like i was doing 40 mph in it lol.but, his car i always loved more the "black beauty".
