You're referring to the purple wire at the antenna relay in the trunk, correct?
That wire (which is on the map/interior/door light circuit) does have a connection in the center console....exactly where I can't remember. if it had power before, but not now, it might've come disconnected during the radio replacement.
Do the interior lights work? That might give a clue.

Back in 2015 I installed a new radio and posted:1987 XJ6 Fitting a New Radio
I listed there the radio connections I used.
"The Power connections are a little tricky.
The existing Jaguar RED wire is the constant 12V supply, and connects to the new radio YELLOW wire.
The existing Jaguar YELLOW wire is the switched ignition, and connects to the new radio RED wire.
The existing Jaguar WHITE wire is to the antenna relay, and connects to the new radio BLUE wire.
The exiting ground strap, I connected to my bracket along with the new radio black wire."
