Done soon... I hope for spring. I've got mostly cosmetics remaining save for the transmission and engine oil cooling systems. Last engine mod will be a return to non-roller rocker arms, the clatter really doesn't work for me.

Sweet, I'd love that. Been dreaming about a rally or hill climb too or just some spirited driving in and around Bear Mountain.

Lower bob!
It's become necessary to lower the front end a bit. Converts often suffer from this and need an altitude adjustment. I have a front sub-frame with springs from an XJS with 4.0L I6 but it still sits too high
Much discussed here, one way to lower this type of Jag is to use spaces on the spring pan.
What I used.
24 washers, 5/32 extra think 3/8 washers.
12 split lock washhers, grade 8
12 bolts, 3/8-24 X 1 1/8 - grade 8
4 bolts, 3/8-24 X 3.5
4 nuts, 3/8-24 nylock
Total cost of hardware was about 50$
The washers were doubled up for a 5/16 inch pan drop. This resulted in a 1 inch drop at the fender lip. I've done this before using some crude cut steel bar, but the washers are a cleaner look and Just enough for my setup. I got 15 inches from the spindle center to the fender lip. This is the same measurement as my un-disturbed reference coupe.
Great success. I dont want the car too low here in the herky jerky moonscaped roads of the big city.

10.29$ Sway bar link upgrade
How about a polyurethane sway-bar end link upgrade for less than 11$
My sway bar end links were stuffed so I set out to upgrade. No need to use high dollar poly parts when low cost OE poly parts are readily available in the aftermarket. So my Jaguar got even more GM stuff.
I ordered a bunch of sway bar end link kits from a few select GM and Ford products. One of items that arrived seems like it would fit but needed a minor modification to fit perfectly. The rest are being returned.
The modification ... the spacer tube needs to be cut down to 2.25 inches. 30 seconds with a tubing cutter did the job. I also didn't use the jam nuts that came with the kit. I simply substituted some 3/8-16 nylock nuts I had on hand.
ACDelco 46G0032A - The bushings are TPU or Thermoplastic Poly Urethane and the kits includes all the hard ware too. At 10.29 with free shipping, the value is hard to beat. In the sales photos the bushings are red, but they arrived black which was OK with me, I never like the red boy racer look anyway.
So how does it drive... Steering feels more precise and noticeably better on initial turn in.
The kit, 7 inch bolt not shown, with the old end link bar at the bottom.
More GM stuff goes on my Jag

Haha... Wow... I got robbed! Seriously though, that's a different part number. 46G0002A vs 460032A. Those look to have standard rubber bushes in the picture. While the later has TPU bushes. Still would work though. Who knows for sure...sometimes pictures can be inexact. I'm gonna ordered them just to see.

door panel
Off to a humble start on the interior fittings. Armrest foam is not in good shape. Gotta find another... eventually.
Fabricated a new door panel with a speaker to replace the OE ash tray. My reference coupe shows no rear speakers on the XJC.
This seems odd to me for such a high end marque. Apparently Brits were more concerned with smoking than with tunes. I count 4 ashtrays, 2 speakers as designed, funny since The Kingdom was putting out some quality music in the 70's perhaps Jag buyers didn't see it that way at the time.

I'm running 235/55/r17 in the front. 255/50/R17 in the rear. These are 27 inch tires, OE tires is 25 inches. This way I keep some sidewall for a compliant ride and the bigger wheel and tire fill the wheel wells and gives a lower and more contemporary look.
The front wheels are 8.0 inches and the rears are 9.5. I do not know the offsets, I worked this out years ago when I had the wheels made. I did the ordering over the phone so I have no record or notes. I worked it out so the center line of the wheel would be in the same place as OE for proper alignment and predictable road handling. Shouldnt be hard to re-do. The front was dead on the, rear was off slightly becasue I couldn't push the wheels in any further. There is just 1/4 inch clearance now. I think I made a post with the details.
The rear of my car was widened 2.5 inches so the 9.5 wheels and tires would fit.
As designed the ride, handling, dynamics and grip are all good and accomplished my goals which include ride quality, road holding, feel and dynamics. As a piratical matter, I wouldn't recommend this setup, becasue there are now very few tire options in these sizes. I'm surprised becasue the application is Chevy Impala SS and I figured the sizes would be widely available for a long time. No so and this wasnt the case 3 years ago. But now I'm forced to run one brand of tire in the front and different brand in the rear. That is a bit irksome.
That said, my case is unique because I widened the rear. On my previous coupe, I ran the 235 size all around and they fit with no issues and no fender widening. Grip with my old 406 SBC was insufficient to say the least.

I don't recall roller rockers as being inherently noisy? But, indeed, the need for them is another subject.
Nice pictures, but brrrrr.
I just looked out my front window. Dark, wet and stormy. Still inhibitive. Coco and were out at about 5. Our time. Rain just getting under way. But, not really cold. Coming in from the South. Others come down from the North, much colder.
No weed whacking today, geeee.
