After my series 1 come back from engine and gearbox rebuild, there were no wires on the gear box, or the kick down switch. I am happy to make up a new loom but can you please tell me where all three wires go. So far I have got:
Red/Black
Green
Purple/Brown.
I have three terminals on the kickdown switch and there have been three wires mentioned but only two destinations. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

John, welcome to the forum. You will find this is a great place to learn things about your XJ. It was great to meet you at the British Day over the weekend. I just chased my wiring for the kick-down switch. The green wire comes from the bottom terminal on the horn relay which is located below the coil. This green wire is the +ve feed and connects to the bottom terminal. The red/black goes from the top to the terminal on the right side of the transmission. I only have two terminals on the switch. I suspect one of the terminals will be common with one of the others on the switch and is a take off feed for elsewhere. It may not be needed. Check which one is common with a test meter.
Also check my thread re my problems on departure from the British Day.
Re your front suspension alignment, I have some more info on that. I can p.m.. or it may be better to post a separate thread as there are many on here with much more knowledge than I.
