Oil pan to cross member clearance

Oil pan to cross member clearance
Series 1 Restoration. Changing the alt belt and there is little or no clearance between the crank pulley and the torsion bar. Also the oil pan is very close to sitting on the cross frame member.
The gap gap between the crank pulley and the torsion bar closes further when you jack up the car.
I am figuring worn suspension bits or “sunk” motor mounts but looking for an expert opinion.
Any ideas?

release the links on each side of the SWAY BAR, and that should allow you to move it enough from the crankshaft pulley to slip the belt through? If no luck, remove one of the two bushings to lower the sway bar enough.
As a precaution, I would support the tires on blocks.

My S2 6cyl cars all had about????? 1" between the sump and cradle, never looked at the sway and pulley, so probably not an issue.
Sagged, soggy, engine mounts = #1 on my list.
Look at the fan in relation to "central" in the shroud, that will give it away if its mounts bad, or just need adjusting.
