Original Series 1 XJ6 Refurbishment and Questions

That's my belief, too, that they were dealer installed. So, a British Leyland branded radio like you might find in an MG of the period would not necessarily be correct for the Jaguar. Best bet would be a period-correct high-end unit, but as you see we decided the retro-sound style was the best option for us.

I can't find one of just the plate itself, but I will ask Jamie if he has one. In the meantime, here's a close up of it installed that shows how the openings are "edged" a little, relative to the horizontal stripe pattern in the metal. Also, an image from the manual that confirms the shape.

Peter, excellent photo and as luck would have it I recalled last night the previous owner mentioning a different faceplate in the box o parts. Low and behold there was one, albeit a bit beat up. Interesting thing though in comparing the two. The one that came installed in the car has these "melt" holes attaching the graphic plates while the uncut one doesn't. Is this an early glued attempt by the factory that failed or vice versa? Do you or anyone know?
Notice the melt holes

Sunvisors
I carefully sliced along the seam in one end and removed the pulverized foam. Got some thin foam from a local fabric shop, cut & shoved it back in the envelope. Used crazy glue to close the seam and coated it with black vinyl liquid. Another challenge is tightening the friction around the rod so they stay up.
Another question for the Great Collective Wisdom that is the Jaguar Forums: What do we do with our sun visors?!
Relatively speaking, ours aren't really all that bad. The vinyl is very good, and the passenger visor even has some foam integrity left. The driver's side, however, is basically just its wire outline and no filling. We've no idea what to do.
Are there accurate reproductions available (welded, not stitched)?
Any chance of using some low-expansion spray foam through a small hole while supporting the visor in some form of 'slot' mold?
Other ideas?
