Oxygen Sensor Warning Light on

Oxygen Sensor Warning Light on
The Oxygen Sensor Warning light on my 86 XJ6 is constantly on. Even though I changed it out when the light first came on. I did not use a Jaguar part, if that makes a difference. Will switching to an OEM part solve the problem or could it be something else?
I was searching this forum and one post stated that the speedo had something to do with the Oxygen Sensor Light but did not elaborate.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The light comes on every 30k miles. Doesn't matter if the sensor is good or bad.
Go into the trunk and remove the trim panel on the forward bulkhead. Behind the panel is a variety of devices including the interval counter for the sensor. It's about the size of a couple packs of Lucky Strikes.....more towards your left on the panel, as I recall. There's reset button. Use a ball point pen or similar to push the button down. You'll be able to feel it reset.
Cheers

You could have rolled down all the windows and opened the sunroof when the light came on like a lady did back in the '80s when the Series III cars were new. She saw the light and opened the windows, drove to the dealer and wanted to know if it was safe to drive the car!!!!
We all got a big laugh (but not in front of her)
