Question Power Front passenger seat for LHD Series III

When I adjust my drivers seat (elecrtically) and when the car is viewed from behind, the passenger seat is seen to be much lower than the drivers one. I would like to have them both the same.

Has anyone ever installed the power seat switch and mechanism from a RHD Series III into a LHD car? I would like to have both my front seats adjustable. I will be heading to UK tonight for 2 weeks and could pick up the parts needed from someone over the pond.

You can probably find what you need closer to home. The upper-level Series IIIs (V12s, VDPs, etc) had an electric adjust system on both sides.

Cheers

Thanks Doug. I never realized that. I'm in Canada and my car is a Canadian Sovereign, which I believe is the VDP (US) equivalent but does not have the second system. I'll do some local shopping around up here in Niagara Falls.

The Canadian-market Sovereign was the middle range of the Canadian Jaguars, and was not equivalent to the 6 cylinder US VDP -different seats entirely but the tilt mechanism is the same. You can get the wiring harness for the right hand side from a Canadian-market V12 Vanden Plas or, for that matter you can easily adapt a driver's side harness to use on the passenger side and tap into the existing power source...but the fixed seat has a different mounting structure from the powered seat (to call it a power seat is wishful thinking. The mechanism merely tilts the rear of the seat upwards rather than lifting the entire seat. Not very useful unless you like to slide forward! ). I did do this modification on an '82 XJ6 but I forget the details...it was almost 20 years ago!
