A fellow on another forum described his travail with a starter and ring gear on his XJ6. It had a home brew or small shop conversion to a Mustang style T5.

Slick. The bell housing was formed by sawing off the needed portion from the BW. An alloy adapter plate was welded on to accept the transmission. Not sure of the origin of the flywheel. redrilled Mustang???

Drilled and welded pedal box to add the needed additional pedal.

He loved it.

I have a vague recollection of another around here somewhere. Details not recalled, except for the adaptation of the auto pedal box.

About as ready as it can be, run in miles completed today. Just waiting for the bloke to arrive with the oil and filter.........I should be driving it but under cover instead keeping clean.

Dr. Phil:

AW!!!! Clean and shiny looks good, but doesn't win races.....

(In about 1960, I lived and worked in California's Imperial
Valley. It had a great one mile track for horses or cars at the
Fair Grounds. The California Racing Association came to town.
Racing roadsters of all descriptions and all out sprint cars.
No limits on the power plant. On that Sunday, a raggedy a..'d
sprinter powered by an outlaw Offy 270 CI or better beat all comers.

So hitting the apex is only a figure of speech and not a physical thing right. I will see how I go tomorrow. keep the shiny side up huh.

Default Lakeside

Really great seeing ur car on the track today, Dr Phill certainly handled the car well. I stand corrected on any doubts I had on his ability. Pity didn't get to chat to you guys, but was great seeing some great cars.

A great big thanks to Clarke ( o1xjr) for entrusting me with his pride and joy to treat it with a little disrespect at Lakeside Raceway today. A bit different to pedalling a purpose built car around a race track. Pretty sure I gave his heart a couple of reasons to skip a beat or two.

Trying to work out the racing line going into Hungry'.

Don't lift, don't lift. coming onto the main straight from eastern loop.

A little celebration at the end of the day. Two cars going home as they arrived.
