questions about the Fuel Cutoff Inertia Switch
I have an 86 xj-6. I had the thing running great last fall. Passed emission test and everything. Now I try to start it and it turns over but doesn't start. I have replaced one of the fuel pump relays on the firewall ( didn't realize there were two until I tried to replace the pone) and that didn't help.
I think my problem may be the Fuel Cutoff Inertia Switch. I have located it and the reset swith is down and won't stay up. I have read that you should hear a click when you go to reset it. I didnt here a click.
Is it possible to bypass the Fuel Cutoff Inertia Switch by jumping the two wires that go into the switch. It seems if the car starts with the switch bypassed that the Fuel Cutoff Inertia Switch is the problem.
What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?
