Replacement AC compressor -- missing 'post' connection
Hey guys,
I've finally got my AC compressor replaced, and the new one lacks that post on the back that the circled connector (see circled connector in image) would attach to. Does anyone know what is that for? Can I remove that from the circuit?
Pretty much the new pump only has the 2 prong connection to the pump (the one with the ground strap). Looks like DRC1721 and DAC1408 are not necessary. IIRC: the original (God knows how modified) wiring harness lacked them completely.

The connector is attached to the 'superheat switch' which must be transferred from your old compressor. There's a plug over the hole....held in by a snap ring.
The 3 -prong thermal fuse can be eliminated if you use a "HSLP" (high side low pressure) switch instead of a 'superheat switch'. This means a different compressor or at least a different compressor rear plate.
The purpose of either type switch is to disengage the compressor if the Freon level drops too low. This protects the compressor.
Cheers

Thanks!
So I'll just need to move the old superheat switch to the new compressor -- I have the orginial Harrison, but am not sure the new compressor supports it. Purchased as a replacement from Welsh, so I bet it does.
Ugh -- have to pull it out :/ Again.
Does anyone have a picture of DAC1408 connecting to a 'proper' wiring harness, by any chance? I have 2 XJ6's to refer too, and both have modified connections to the AC pump (they don't look anything like the illustration).
