S3 Adjustable front seat headrests

front seat headrests are adjustable up and down.
if stuck in place, sit on the back seat and with both hands give them a forceful pull up. Careful with the plastic mount underneath the headrests, it can break.
if no luck, you will need to pull the seat cover up and work from the back of the seat.
there is a vertical track with ratcheting teeth and notches. WD40 will unstick them and a good smack from the bottom with a rubber mallet. The track is welded to the seat frame.

i need to have new covers sown to my from seats headrests but they are no way to be removed.

they can be removed once you pull up the cover section from the rear of the seat Back,
first remove the plastic lumbar adjusting knob,
then at the bottom of the seat Back, undo the cover and pull the cover at its clips at the back to reveal the headrest track.
press the triangular locks from their notches with a flat tool at the back of the track as you pull the headrest up and out of the track.

I have only know them as C clip pliers , but hog pliers is another name
Bunnings have them , Ebay have sets at $49 with pliers and 2500 clips
easy to find
