Series 1 Fuel Consumption

You are never going to believe this.
I had a puncture with the wires and went to my local tyre (tire for you) dealer who I know quite well. Told him I was trying to source some alloys for the car but did not like any of the modern designs as they did not suit the car. He stroked his chin and asked me if I would like a set of mini-lites. I obviously said yes depending on the price.
He then went on to tell me when he was manager of another tyre dealership about seven years ago they ordered a set in for a customer who sold their car before the wheels arrived from England. He thinks they may still be in the back of the storeroom, so he gave them a ring. Sure enough they were still there and if I was willing to pay $1,000 for them, they would send them over. He asked them to send one over so he could fit one on the car and see if I liked them, hence the photo. Needless to say it was a no brainer.
I have since found out a wheel manufacturer here in Australia called Performance wheels makes a very good copy. I think from memory someone said they were 7" x 16" with the correct offset, etc for Jags.

Next development!! I typically like to clean and fix items as I remove them. It helps with the slowing down of "tear it apart" and I feel teaches me a bit more of how it all works. So my question is as I don't have a magnet handy. Regarding the fuel filler caps, is the underbody housing aluminum or some type of white metal? As always, thank you for your time!

My best friend's nickname is "Magpie" (after the Australian bird) because he has a very similar fascination for all that shines!
I have uploaded some scans, with a few notes, that may assist you with the petrol filler caps and following are two diagrams that explore the valance vs boot mounted fuel bowl further...
