Default Series 1 Radiator options for GM350

My original jaguar radiator is toast. I was hoping someone could steer me towards an aluminum radiator that will work in this car. Since my upper radiator hose is higher than the level of whatever radiator filler cap I will get, should I go with a "no cap" style and use an expansion tank for filler?

Greg

No need for an expansion tank... check out Jaguar Specialities site - see the link... they show the proper radiator to use and give the specs.. you will need (4) GM isolators to
go on top (two) and underneath (two). Then drill some holes for the four corners of the needed hole to be cut out for the radiator cap to protrude thought the top radiator support.

They sell for approximately $125.00 =/- and are available everywhere...

I was going to mention the Jaguar-specialties solution. Quite elegant.

The only part that I doubt is the big hole in the top radiator support for the radiator cap.
Nit pick, close but not quite. It seems to work.

I'd shop for a "T" that provides for a cap in the top hose. Looks still not optimum, but access a lot better.

My lump is so plumbed.

went the jaguar specialties route.Worked like a charm. He also sells a fan shroud that is second to none with instructions on installing an electric fan. Highly endorsed!

I purchased the '87-'90's Camaro radiator and am waiting for delivery. I robbed a 16" 2-speed fan and control from my '92 Volvo 740 that my son got T-boned in recently. I'm installing a two stage temp sensor BMW #61311378073,(91 C and 99C). I currently have a 88 C thermostat. I was planning on installing temp sensor in the heater return on the radiator as my intake manifold port is used for temp gauge in dash.

Question 1: What recommendation's are there for overflow bottle? That may sound like a dumb question but I don't really understand how that should work.

Question 2: Why not install a filler reservoir up higher in engine bay that is higher than the radiator return hose.

Not sure about your S1, but my S3 has an "overflow" behind the out board lamp on the drivers side. RHD. I merely plumbed it in.

Default Another port for temp sensor and overflow bottle location

There is a port for the temp gauge on the RH side of the block on the right side. Probably has a plug in it now? It is located just above the right rear spark plug.

My S1 has a aftermarket hex shaped billet overflow mounted on the drivers side near the front... see in photo. Use can use any overflow bottle mounted
wherever works for your car and style. Sorry for the poor cell phone picture (due to the lighting).

Plastic bottle in front of the overflow is for the windshield washer...
