Wow....
I'll give it to you right away, I know it by heart:
486805
Your car is car #94/100. I did own car #100/100 (as well as others) but this very last car was a Montreal car and obviously used in winter so it had rust under the paint. The interior, however, was excellent:
Your car, #94, is, like all the other "numbered" 1992 V12 Vanden Plas cars, a fully-optioned Daimler Double Six, badged as a Jaguar V12 Vanden Plas for export to Canada. It also has certain "Canada only" items: the bonnet-mounted washers, mudflaps, the coolant preheater, etc.
Do you have any questions about it?
Why don't I have a plate on the console?
Maybe the console has been replaced because mine is completely covered with veneer? (You can see it in picture 5)
Do you think I could get the sticker from JDHT?
Mine was also very rusty, it was exported from Canada to Sweden.
But it wasn't that bad, the windshield, the whole top right corner, the wheel arches, the sill tips and the ragmen on the right in the gearbox area. Oh yes, and the hood on the hinges are completely rusted.
It's now painted and I'm slowly putting it back together. The car is beautiful.
I also have a DD6 German Car with the number 486704 that is absolutely rust-free and only has 43,000 km on it.
But the engine wiring harness burned out.
I've just finished that and it's running again, even the ABS and cruise control work! -
The plate on the console is metal (not a sticker) and I believe that it was ordered by Jaguar Canada, so no, JDHT will not have any access to this. But a trophy shop could probably make a copy for you (not inexpensively).
The plate was provided WITH the numbered cars, but the placement of the plate was either on the console (most common) or on the glove box (not frequent, and this is a bad idea because the wood veneer on the glove box door invariably cracked when the holes for the plate screws were made).
Aha!
That's good information, then I don't need to ask JDHT any more!
Unfortunately I'm too far away (Croatia) to get the sticker in Toronto!
Maybe someone knows the email from the company so I could order?
