Setting Timing
Pardon my ignorance on this matter, never set the timing on the Jag before.
I would assume that to set the timing (which will be to 17BTDC according to the decal) the induction loop of the light should be on cylinder #1 (by fan).
Would someone be so kind to confirm or correct my assumption.
I fiddled with the timing in an attempt to get the car running correctly.
Should I go with the alternative spec of 4 degrees that supposedly helps the engine idle smoother? Keep in mind I need this car to pass an emissions test, so I can't fool around with it too much. They test NOx, CO, CO2, and HC's here in PA.
Oh, for the record, its a US spec Federal model.
