SIII Tail Lights and Bumpers on SII Coupe
I'm toying with the idea of an XJC.
Is it possible to graft those beautiful SIII tail lights on to the SII, and if so, what's involved.
And I've seen SII cars with the later bumper - is this a direct swap, or is modification required?
(granted, the SII is probably the better looking bumper)

Years ago one of the guys at Motorcars Ltd had a XJ6C (or maybe XJ12C) that had many Ser III parts installed, including bumpers and tail lights. I don't know how much work was needed but it's obviously doable.
The car was stunning. With some Googling you might be able to find pics or perhaps contact Motorcars Ltd and someone there will know/remember the car.
Cheers

Yeah, looks great... and surprisingly modern. Black seems to really agree with these cars.
And look at this one:
It doesn't look in the lest bit dated. It's those X308R wheels again (is there any Jag they don't look good on?), and the colour of it, although I don't think I'd have done the grille completely black like that...

Thinking about my old Series 3, I think you will find the aperture where they fit is larger, so you will need to cut out the correct size space, and the captive nuts welded to the body to secure the lights will probably be in the wrong place, but thats about all, I think, as the Series 3 did not have all that much altered aft of the rear windshield.
