Note- rubber fuel hose sizes in the trunk are 1/4" , 5/16" , 3/8", 1/2". Use NAPA p/n H353A (1/4), H349A (5/16), H358A (1/2), H351A (3/8).

Has anyone else had problems with fuel hoses not clamping tight? I'm using nbh barrier hose and the factory steel tee connectors. I've tried worm drive and EFI clamps but no matter how tight the clamp you can always pull the hose off the tee without much effort. Can I use fuel safe RTV as a "glue"?

Malcolm Ridgeway, I am adding a strainer right before the pump inlet. P/N is Fleetguard FF5289 with the correct 1/2" hose barbs.

The hose at bottom outlet of the block feeds the right line routed towards the engine and the top outlet of the block feeds the hose crossing in front of the spare tire to the tee at the far left. One outlet of this tee feeds the left hose routed towards the engine and the other feeds the second solenoid. That solenoid works with the first to make sure the return side operates with the correct tank.

update- the hose running from the far left tee to the top outlet of the block is fuel return. That tee allows return fuel to flow from the engine via the left trunk hard line through the small solenoid back to either tank.

Not sophisticated enough to be a drawing so call it a fuel system doodle. Tank vent system, electronics, vacuum system not pictured for the sake of clarity. Thick sharpie lines are rubber hoses. It is not correct in terms of scale or relative positioning of components but hopefully this depicts the fuel path through the system fairly accurately? If there's something backward or missing please chime in.

Ok back at it after a while. Replaced so far- fuel tanks, pump, tank fittings, fuel hoses in trunk, starter relay, fuel injection relay, trigger board, coil, distributor rotor, cap, wires, spark plugs, air filters, battery, ground cable, fuel filter & hoses under the hood. Also did an oil change & rebuilt injectors. Currently diagnosing a no-start (but the pump is working and the engine does catch briefly with starting fluid). Happy wrenching.
