SIII XJ6 - Front door hinge pin replacement
Another issue that has been bothering me - and it's getting worse. Pass. door RH side, has dropped 3/8" and rides up on the catch to close. Door open and lifted, it comes up and shows wear in the upper hinge, or maybe both hinges. I assume it's a bushing and pin that needs to be replaced.
Does the wing need to be removed to do this, or can the hinge be accessed from behind the wheel/wing closing panel?
Is there a thread that explains this, because I cannot find one.
Hope there is a relatively simple solution.

Bugga.
Its been many year since I went in there, but I took the door off.
BUT
That was Series 2 cars, and the loom was a test of patience for sure.
The XJS, access is do-able from the wheel side access panel, and I reckon that would work on a S3 also.
The parts drawings only show hinge assemblies, but the pins are certainly NOT rocket science.
Back then, the Indy Parts Mobs had oversize hinge pins, and the task was not too bad as a whole, The crazy spring thing on the lower hinges took its toll on the vocabulary, and the fingers.
Dont remember bushes in there, but it was a long time ago.

I've never done that job but looking at the hinges I do not think it is easy without removing the wing. Especially the lower hinge.
And the hinge locations need to be scribed so they go back where they were.
with the wing in place, it will be very easy to cause damage to the door and wing edges, creating a secondary problem.
make lemonade out of the lemon and remove the wing. Good oportunity to inspect and clean the area under the wing and to devise a way to use the fresh air hose, such as marking the kick panel from outside to make a cutout as in the Series 2.
