Default Which starter terminal is correct?

The Lucas starter in my 1987 XJ6 4.2 was acting wonky so I followed Doug's excellent diagnostic check list. When I jumped the starter relay white/red wire to the battery I got nothing. So I pulled the starter and darn but the lower end of that wire had fallen off the solenoid spade terminal on the starter. No wonder it wasn’t working. So my question is that on the starter there are two spade terminals: which one does the relay wire go back on? The one on the left is longer than the one on the right. Neither have any markings on the black plastic at the base. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I'd go with the shorter terminal. It looks more robustly fixed, as one would expect for the solenoid operation. The other one looks like an auxiliary terminal for cars that need a "12v when cranking" supply

Cheers
