Status of the starter, closing
Took the Jaguar to market. The driver side scuttle buttoned up with all systems in that area "good to go". I see the labor/management frustration at Browns Lane! What a way to do assembly. teeny screws of mixed heads, slots and Pozi!! I swapped in at least four for the slots. hate slots.
Passenger side scuttle still open. No speedo function. Took teeny bladed screwdriver. After shopping, redid the attachments to the Dakota Digital pulse converter. Awful device. Teeny slot head screws and wow, dip switches.
Speedo function is back. Wacko as before. Indicated 49 is real 25!!!
Close it up as before or tackle install of Jaguar Specialties pulse converter?
Not simple.
The good. it cranks up instantaneously. Runs great, power all there. Instruments show correct values, temp, volts, OP, tach, etc. As car idled in driveway as I opened the garage, the fans came on. Just right.
So:
1. Button it up.
2. Clean it up.
Leaned some more....

Carl, you still at war with that starter ??
hey, I did the polyurethane front shock upper bushings today in mine, the car feels like a new car, I had to make a wood jig to cut them because I needed ½" inch height and the ones I could find were 7/8" in height. Cutting polyurethane I don't ever want to do that again, I used a wood saw, it's the only thing that could cut through. My hacksaw wouldn't even make a mark.

Jose:
Yeah, my part of the starter thing done. Rely rack in good shape. Torque converter lock pedal status relay doing its thing. Now, if the new High Energy starter of Malaysian origin stays alive, I am good. If not, other than my old bones, I am a master of starter swap outs!!!
As to hack saws. Rarely used around here any more. and, I have a ton of new blades. I have a short handle device for cutting in closed spaces. A busted blade is best. And, my ancient HF power saw really whacks out whatever I feed it.

Me too, thanks!!
