Steering rack leak?

Steering rack leak?
Jacked up the Shitbox Rally Daimler (74 XJ6) today and found a small tear in the driver side Steering Rack boot. I found the tear because there was quite a noticable amount of oil dripping out of it. I had noticed that I have had to top up the rack once or twice, now I assume that the oil is not actually meant to get out of the rack and into the boots? I removed the boot clamps and the passenger side only has a couple of drips worth of oil in it but the drivers side has a 1/4 cup full.
The steering always sounds fine and is super light, are there seals that can be easily replaced on the rack that are causing these leaks? With the boots off and the car off it's not leaking out of the rack, so I assume it's only happening under pressure when driving, but I'm afraid of the rack dying on me during the 3500km of dirt road driving it will be doing on the rally if the seal were to give way completely. Would some sort of stop-leak product work?
