Jose:

Yes, the rubber strap models. Not the "tougher" bicycle chain devices for hard stuff.

In the kitchen I was trying to unscrew a bottle cap !. Voila, a nut cracker. Two levers on a common fulcrum. A serrated jaw. Just clamp on to cap. squeeze and twist. Done....

Playing on Xmas gift from son and SO, a super fast AF surplu Dell on XP!!

Stuff to load and experiment with. Touchy mouse included...
On XP. It and IE not so happy, Google Chrome far more compatible.

Printer, card reader, pocket PC installs to work on.

Cloudy, cold, but, a tad warmer, rain on the way....
We sure need it...

here's 4 of my collected steering wheels from every car I've owned since 1969. Missing are the 2 Volvo 1800 series wheels and another from a 1997 Ford Aerostar minivan.

You like your Aerostar any better than LnrB likes theirs?

I was out in the garage yesterday. saw my really old steering wheel.
Big with a metal spider and a real thick wood rim. Still has some of the old cloth type electrical tape on it. No splines there. An opening with a slot for a key. Big for pre PS critters!!!

And, a smaller Banjo type. Probably not a classic mid 30s Ford
version...

I have owned 3 Aerostars since 1986. The 3.0 liter engine is a BMW beater, then I bought a 4.0 liter and it is a guzzler and slow.

I agree, the MG-B wheel is the nicest Hafrod. Banjo-style spokes at the correct 8 and 4 o'clock angles so the gauges are not blocked from view when driving. Still has the vinyl wrap cover I added in 1970 trying to get more traction or grip. It is as thin as the XJ-6 and the S type wheels, and all 3 wheels measure 17 inches. The MG wheel is marked British Leyland 1968.

The MG still exists, owned by two brothers who collect Triumph, Austin Healy, and MG.

It sure is a classic! With luck, the "banjo" up in my garage rafters is similar. More than likely not, possibly a more mundane Brit car.

I've a soft spot for MG's. While in service in Germany, I bought my
one and only self bought brand new car. A 53 TD in BRG.
I courted and won the heart of my dearly beloved fraulein. Now passed, but I've many fond memories of our adventures in it.

We get a rain break tomorrow, I may climb up there and look and possibly retrieve it. Don't tell my daughter I'm up on a ladder!!!

Coco and I have been out. He has dined on kibble and chopped turkey.
I, on toast slathered in butter and a tad of Vegemite. Black Nestle's
Classico to wash it down.

Gonna mess with the other Dell later, after chores, and see if I can post a picture or so.

Careful Carl, no steering wheel is worth an accident, and we are not agile anymore...

Jose:

Agree!

I looked up, but did no climbing!

Not an MG like yours. No badge in the center, spokes spaced differently, thicker rim, in black.

Probably a more mundane Brit car.

But, it has a certain charm...

It'll stay up there a while!!!
