Isn't YouTube and the internet in general great. When I was young the only way you learned something new was to go to the library and get a book, or know someone that would teach you (like my father), or dig in, make a mess of things and maybe figure it out (self taught). Now everyone has access to expert advice 24x7 at home.
A few years back I was going to remove my XJ6 dashboard and found some general instructions but not enough to feel confident. So I had to use the "jump in and figure it out method". But I did shoot video of each step after I figured it out. When I completed the project I joined the clips together and posted it on YouTube, hoping it might help someone in the future. To date it has been viewed 25,000 times.
So, here is the moral of the story. If you figure something out that might help others with a vintage Jaguar, shoot a quick video and post it on YouTube. It's free, quick and easy. If it's rough and maybe has an error or two, don't worry, someone will come along later and make a new one. But in the meantime yours will be helping people.
