I've done it only once but I recall removing the bracket (4 nuts) from the car, taking the motor and bracket as an assembly to the work bench, and then swapping the motors. The cable will need to be removed from the motor (2 bolts).
I think it took more time to take the seat in and out to swap the motor.
Cheers

thanks doug, ill give it a crack tomorrow. the 2 bolts holdin the cables have to be whats givin me trouble. i dont recall seeing them. i do have the rear seat out and took out the four bolts which allows me to move the metal bracket. from inside the boot... the motor is supposed to b connected to that other bracket (3 screws). im guessing thats where ill find them 2 bolts

The two bolts that hold that cable onto the motor are on the cabin side. You'll see where the cables come into the motor from the left and the right. the two bolts are right there.

sunroof motor is fixed
thanks again doug. i didnt know i can pry the thin metal reinforcer off. i detached the cables and popped that sucker right through. took me not even 20 minutes to reassemble and have everything back in. on weds i was at it for about 2.5 hours struggling, cursing the jaguar gods. wanting to know why they would leave a brother with no room to screw in 3 mini bolts.
