I second Jose's post, I bought a small roll there with the intention of replacing one piece in the boot, but the color was off just enough to really stand out. If you re-carpet the whole boot, their material (indoor-outdoor I think) would look nearly as good as original.
Some of the usual trim suppliers offer trunk/boot carpet kits that would match the original. I don’t know the cost, but probably enough to inspire me to try Everydayxj first, or find a reasonable alternative at Lowe’s or Michael’s or any carpet supplier and cut my own pieces. Let us know what you find.
Anyone know where to get some that’s the right colour and texture???? Spilled paint on mine, and washing machine did it no favours!!!
wow, grey carpet....how unusual as i thought the bean counters at jag used that "oatmeal"/tan in a lot of trunk interiors in spite of the cabin and/or paint color. same goes for the headliner. most cars came with that lovely beige/tan. you were lucky. my car came with silver paint and mulberry interior but i got stuck with that oatmeal color. yuck.
hmmmm. i know pictures can play tricks with colors but that looks like what i referred to as oatmeal/tan. dave at everydayxj should be able to get you a nice carpet. maybe there is a trunk carpet code somewhere in the car?
on a seperate note, i see you amped up the sound system? i did the same but took a simpler route by installing and in-cabin powered subwoofer that is sitting on the rear parcel shelf. is this amp powering the speakers? i'm sure it sounds great. jag really was wimpy with their sound systems given the amount of money people paid back in the day.
Yes, amp powers two 6 inch subwoofers mounted to rear deck and two surface mounted tweeters mounted on the window trim, through the crossovers, reason I was in the trunk to start with was no sound from this, if you look closely, you can see the issue, during my lumping process, I had center console out to add neutral safety switch and aldl port, I must have pulled on the rca cables as they unplugged from the amp, and pulled back through seat back into cabin, haven’t gotten around to redoing yet as time is tight and removing seat is a pain!
To protect the boot carpet in mine I went to Lowe's and got some of the rubber backed "runner" material you see on the floor right inside the door of a store. Rubber on the back and flocked on the top. It comes in various colors and is on a roll 48" wide which is just perfect.

here's a thought: dave/everydayxj might be able to locate a nice, matching bottom carpet for you if you send him a small swatch cut from an inconspicuous area like the backside of one of the side or rear panels. if he can find you a nice oem bit of carpet then you could use your original as a protective top cover.
