Default V12 cylinder heads

Hi all

I'll be needing to the the left-hand head off...

First cause for concern seems to be around the exhaust manifold... Does this come off before or after the heads? Any special tricks for this?

Second cause for concern is the timing chain tensioner... Sounds to be a fragile thing... I'm keen to leave this item alone as much as possible... Some chap apparently managed to get the heads off without messing with it... Possible? I'll attach the link. If anyone can clarify this I'd be most grateful.

Cheers.

You may want to explain the situation in the XJS forum. The are a lot more v12 owners with experience, The XJS had a V12 exclusive up to the early 90's where as the V12 was relatively rare on the sedan.
