The national holiday messed up a lot of things this week and last, but this morning I got 2, count 'em, TWO checks in the mail, each for the agreed upon amount!
I didn't even bring them home to gloat, but took them Straight to the bank!
It's been um, an Interesting event and a learning experience, one which I don't wish to repeat Ever!
But I would really Hate to be the person who ran into me. She might be looking for a new insurance carrier.

Good job. Agree, best not to be in that situation.
Curious; They got Wart as a part of the deal? Wart will go to a
"Pic'n Pull". The parts to recycled. Or straight to the crusher, metals and soft stuff sorted, come back in odd forms???
If the OP only had this one accident, and has no other flaws. Poor DMV, she will see an increased premium,. perhaps, but keep the policy.
If other stuff is there, Assigned risk for minimal cover and a lot more $'s is the fate!!!
Hand to hand continues with OP's insurer as to my daughter's claim.
Progress in bits..... The old way???

Good morning, Carl,
Yes, they got Wart as part of the deal. We could have bought him back and settled for less money, but as I've said often here, he was getting tired and ratty anyway and not really fit for polite company. Although he didn't look too bad after a good rain!
Had they deem him reparable they would have taken him to the repair shop of our choosing. But with even the roof damaged for half the length of the left side, I was pretty sure that wouldn't happen (certainly hoped it wouldn't!! I was Ready for a different car!).
I'm only guessing, but he may end up in a wholesale auction somewhere with a salvage title. He does drive, everything worked (although there were some questionable sounds from the transaxel), husband fitted a replacement tail light assembly that works correctly, and I sealed the door seam with gray, high quality duct tape against all but the most ferocious rain storm. At 100 yards you could hardly see it.
At any rate, we're rid of him, didn't have to deal with trying to sell him, got more from this settlement than we could Possibly have sold him for on the open market, and we're Very pleased!
