Not the kind of thing you want to find when stripping out an old Jaguar, but about par for the course, I'd say. These cars were made in the era when rust-proofing was minimal in all British cars, not just Jaguars.
Have installed the pax side floor pan and will seal all seams & rivet heads with polyurethane sealant. Notice the underside of the pan was
undercoated prior to installation. Will finish work on the Parcel Shelf before top coating the underseat pans just prior to seat installation. Another concern of course is that I see a complete respray of the interior side panels seems required.. I believe it to be Biscuit but not positive. That will delay everything.
Got it from a guy who took it for payment of services. It was sitting in a field with no engine/trans when he took it, last license was 2005. I started work in November/2018, finished this spring. Turned out OK.
Got 16 oz Biscuit Dye from https://www.classicdyeproducts.com/
Think it's enough to do the entire interor but seats are fine. Matches perfectly and very easy to apply. Cleaned surfaces with MEK and applied full strength with a 1 inch foam brush. Back done. Will do front and console in a bit. Lighting in photo makes it look lighter, but if you look at the shot with the seat in you'll see it matches. Floor repaired....windows fixed & lubed. seat back in & yes the Parcel Shelf is done. Wow ! Parcel Shelf refabricated in separate thread !
