What oil should I use in an 87’ xj12

All my V12;s ran 20/50, as per the Owners Handbook.
I switched to 15.40 in the mid 90's.
Working in the Auto Parts Industry, oil brands chop and change their labels constantly, and keeping up is useless.
Remember, that V12 was designed etc in 1954 and not much changed during its life. Back then SAE30 or SAE40 was the flavour of the day.
My 700+K km PreHE runs whatever is on special and 20/50 all year round.
Those in COLD (not us) climates should use a lower spec for the 1st number.
I DO NOT into this Mineral vs Synthetic discussion, the engines are happy, as am I, what more could I possibly want.
