Where to Buy Matching Factory Color Paint?
I have been searching around trying to find a vendor that sells the correct color code paint for my 77 Jag. XJ6L. I found the correct color code, and have been searching around the web, but so far have not found any suppliers. Can someone direct me to a vendor that sells touch-up spray paint?
This is "Silver Gray" (not metallic) with the following paint codes:
PPG/Ditzler - 32221 subgrouped to 260, MDB
Dupont - 43058
Acme/Rogers - 90966
Sherman Williams -5866
Thanks. Here is the Silver Gray color on the old Jag:

In my neck o' the woods there is an automotive paint store supplying all the local body shops. They'll mix up a can of paint by color code and even put all or some in an aerosol can for you. You'll probably have to buy at least a quart, though.
Your town might well have a such a store.

Doug, Yep, In your neck-of-tha-woods, you can just scurry over to the local "Sasquatch Paint N Supply" and get the paint. This hillbillie from the Va. mountains will have to go take a stiff swig of the moonshine, grab the blunder-buster, and go hiking around in search of Sasquatch, and ask him/her where to get tha paint.
I was hoping to find a website where I could just punch in the paint code and buy a small spray can of the paint. Didnt want to spend a fortune buying a quart or paying to have a special batch made......just for a few small surface rust spots I want to rectify. Tried 2 different "silver greys" so far, and nether are close.....shoot, the grey primer is a better match.

That fern gray is a greenish gray.
Sapphire blue; pretty close when compared to my signature photo.
Compared to this one from automotivetouchup.com:
Not even close!
Moral of the story: follow their advice. Order a small sample and try it out. Looks like you're only looking for a little bit anyway.

moronthethrottle......Yep.....paint colors are very deceiving for sure and these poor ole pewters just cant grab the shades perfectly. The last site did give the 260 paint code as an option, whereas the first vendor did not. I did find a semi-local vendor (NAPA) who can mix up a can of 260 for $20, so I will just give that a try. He said he has a buddy out in Washington who pals around with one of those Sasquatchers, and will fly out and have Sasquatcher mix up some silver gray for me. Sasquatcher told him that he wanted a pound of blueberries as barter.....Im fine with that. Ha ha.
