Will my jaguar sell?

Will my jaguar sell?
I am not looking to outright sell my 1986 Jaguar XJ6, more accurately I am wondering if there is a market for them. I recently was given one by a client who owed me money. I was hoping someone could help educate me a little bit and tell me if there is hope to flip this car and if there is a market out there for those looking to sell theirs.
The car runs jsut fine. I have replaced all the electrical in the car as well as replaced the fuel pump. I have also replaced the cracked dash with an original I purchased online. A paint job is def. needed.
I got the car for a $1,000.00 debt. Did I get a deal or wa a passed a hunk of junk?
Are these cars reliable/worth enough to drive/work on?

Welcome to the forum webfish,
1986 - I'm assuming as you've asked the question here you know it's a Series III and not an XJ40. Both were built in 1986 and both have 'XJ6' on the back!
Condition and service history is everything with Jaguars and has a colossal effect on values.
A set of photos will help everyone to give an informed opinion on how the condition stacks up, whether it's worth keeping and what it could be worth.

The market isn't very big or high on older Jags.
I've been eying up Ser IIIs on Craiglist.....I'd like to buy another in a few months.....and I keep seeing the same cars over and over. Fair/average examples are not selling at $2500. One that "looks" very nice isn't selling at $3995 and it's been listed for at least two months. Another....the odd newly listed example....look exceptionally good and the seller is asking $5200 "firm".
In my case I'm looking for a car with exceptionally nice cosmetics and zero rust ....but the mechanicals are virtually irrelevant for the project I am undertaking
If I had room and resources I'd snap up a whole slew of Ser IIIs. But, I don't
Cheers

Well, to be blunt, that's a problem. You can buy a very nice Ser III....an entire car...one good enough to be proud of....for about the cost of a premium quality paint job.

If you're good DIYer the *mechanical* work on these cars isn't that big of a deal and not all that expensive. A well sorted example is a sweetheart to drive and they *can* be quite reliable but it takes some owner involvement and cash to reach that point
But....flipping one of these for profit usually isn't in the cards.
Cheers
