Window Seals
the rear window seal esp on the S2 1974 XJ6 is extremely wide, if anyone has had this done what is involved in the replacement/re-sealing of the front and rear windows? can a new generic rubber be employed to replace the original custom mould? i there a common 'type' number for this replacement seal?

Door/Window Seals
On my S2 Coupe I've just replaced the one long seal that runs from forward of the door to back of the back window and it was a heck of a job. This seal fits into a track that runs the entire length. I finally got it in by lubing up the seal and track with dishwashing detergent and by holding the bottom in the track pushed the top in with a plastic spatula that I modified to be rounded. It took lots of time an patience! The seal is a bit wavy but I'll assume that once the windows are up and pushing against the seal the way they should, that the hot sun here in Florida will help form them the way they should be when the windows are back down.

Agree it's a heck of a job..... we just did the same on our XJ12C.......

Our seals were so old and hard there seemed no way they would slide out, so we had to take half the car apart instead. Even with the chrome piece off the car and in your hand it was fiddly to get the seal in, so kudos to you for doing it while on the car!
