I am not sure I want OEM from what others have told me. I want the one piece. Also I meant for the price.

They're probably fine but I get a little nervous on this "Brand X" type stuff.....and I strongly suspect that if these parts were a recognized brand name he would say so in the listing.

I prefer Lemforder or Quenten-Hazel ball joints, FWIW. I think Lemforder was the OEM for Jaguar on ball joints. Both companies make the one piece ball joints.

The price for the package seems really good but, again, what are you buying?

Cheers

Geee, I dunno. Are you sure? I went there and they don't list brand names either.

When they list four ball joints for $55.00 and a single Lemforder ball joint is $57.00 from other suppliers it seems a bit odd.

Not sayin' your wrong because I know price doesn't always tell the whole story but, still, a person wonders.

Cheers

It is difficult working from pictures, but in my opinion, e-Bay is not the place to buy stuff like this unless the seller states the source, and $55 seems very little for that lot of parts. On the other hand they could be surplus to his requirements, or a job lot purchase from another supplier witrh surplus stock or who has gone bust, as there cannot be a huge call for them nowadays. Lemforder made the Jaguar ball joints, and they do last a long time. The bottom "fix and forget" ball joints are the ones that are far better than the old type with shims, (p[lus a lot of sodding about to fit them).

Be it Welsh, Coventry West, Motrocars Ltd, Ebay, XKs Unlimited, whoever.....

*ASK them what you are buying*. Sometimes they have 2 or 3 different grades for you to choose from and you usually have to ask for the higher grade stuff. I'm sure none of them intentionally sell outright junk but this is a very competetive market with plenty of third world manufacturers distributing parts all over the place. It's a fair bet that the least expensive choices are advertised on the on-line pages. And vendors sometimes play it fast and loose with the term "OEM".

Personally I'm wary of no-name parts that come in unlabled carboard boxes. But that's me.

All I'm sayin' is "be careful" and ASK questions. If the item in question is a known quality brand the vendor will volunteer as much without hesitation.

Cheers

UK-based suppliers like David Manners, and SNG Barratt sell both OEM and pattern parts and indicate such on their on-line catalogue. I used to use David Manners a lot when I lived in Birmingham, as I could visit their shop which was not too far away. No problems with any of their parts. No personal experience of SNG Barratt
