Default XJ12C: Assembly and test

Hi
I am finally assembling my XJ12C. Got the engine in last weekend...

My question:
How would you proceed to assemble in the engine compartment?
I want to avoid putting everything back together and then detect a leak somewhere deep down in all that mess...

One thing I thought was to run power steering pump with the electric drill to check function and leakage. Maybe same with generator?
Any more tips?

Thanks
/Marcus

Just assemble it and don't worry. Do not use the old hoses.
Once assembled give it a good test - if you find leaks it should be little effort to dissassemble as you know exactly what to do and there should be no rusted or seized bolts,
I find once I have removed and replaced something once, then it is so much easier to second time.
I can remove repair and replace an XJ rear end easily in one day now.

Guess you are right, I might be overthinking this...
Just get going and put that damn thing together!
