XJ12C with new engine

I urge you to reconsider if it's not too late.

I don't know if you appreciate just how really special your car is. You may want to reconsider doing an engine swap with an XJ12C.
You will be money ahead selling this "special interest" car to an interested party and buying the car you really want. My guess is that the right buyer will pay for shipment out of Thiland.[/quote]

R fife,,now i really feel dumb, reading the value of XJ12C.
life somtimes makes absolutly no sense, in June 2010, a guy walked up to me and said he overheard me talking about Jagv12s, and said he had a 1975 jag in his backyard, and if i came and took it out ,I COULD HAVE IT FOR NOTHING,,yes no charge!
so next day got a tow truck to follow me to his house, Yup there was a 1975 XJ12C , loaded it up he signed the title over to me, and said his wife will be happy that its gone!
got it home, it did not run V12, then noticed it had a CLUTCH pedal, odd! it had genuine Jag wire wheels from a 74 XKE v12, ,, the negative was typical jag rust.
well got a used ignition amp,and battery, drained the tanks, new fuel filter, and fired up and ran perfect,
advertised it in car mag. and sold in 3 days, again i should have checked values ,sold it for a BIG profit, $6500. hindsite is better than forsite!!

Circ,
You didn't mention what kind of V12 you have found. Don't be fooled into thinking any Jag with a V12 is special because it just isn't so. The Jag V12 in it's original carbureted form IMHO was a "dog". Performance wise they were marginally better than the straight 6 only on their best day.The follow on injected HE was an improvement but nothing to write home about.
However, any Jag V12 in an E-Type or XJ12C is very special indeed. Add a manual transmission to either of these models and you have something especially rare that needs to be saved.

I, and everyone else here, are urging you to not change the engine. As we have all said, XJ12C's are quite rare, and are the kinds of cars you preserve. I have only seen one in my life, and the XK engines run amazingly in all kinds of weather, as long as they are tuned right. Parts are easy to find, and they're relatively easy to work on, even the 12 cylinder models. I'll tell you right now, from current experience, that these are beautiful cars, and you should keep as much aftermarket stuff OFF of it.

With BW12 ? I'm interested...
I'm wondering only about shipping cost...
You have very rare car... Believe me within 10 years you will regret that you haven't kept this engine...
By the way...
Always the same story... I agree that V12 Jags could make owner crying...
Problem was not the engine, but engine equipment...
The engine itself is one of the best engines ever designed.
Pre HE has always been base for Listers engines, it was planed for XJ220.
There is project running in Netherlands and pre HE will be fitted in XJS. Between 420 and 450pk. Only change is sharp camshaft and fully elektronic control.
I agree it not cheap, only racing computer set it's ca. 4k€... but on the other hand as new car V12 has never been cheap...
