XJ6 S3 > Carburetor conversion

Hello,
My donor vehicle is very stubborn. It runs way too rich and I can't find the parts second hand to get it running properly so I thought I'd just convert it to lovely SU carburetors already.
If I'd take off the inlet manifold and swap it do I have a problem with anything?
Does anything else need to be changed?
Thanks

Well, since nobody has said anything I went ahead and tried. The series 3 head doesn't have the attachment for the cable from the gas pedal to mount it. The area behind the engine is a mess. The kickdown cable has to bend in many ways to reach where it should be mounted.
I will try to work around this but I've got another project coming (#4) that needs to be done before summer. I'll keep you updated when I find solutions.

I am planning to make a bracket that picks up on the bolts of the cam cover to hold the gas cable. The carburetors are mounted and it went well.
The thread on the rear bolts is longer because it has to hold a manifold AND the gas mechanism.
The series 1 has a filler cap on the rail. The series 3 has a filler cap on the expansion tank. The series 1 filler cap piece wont fit so I took the series 3 part that sits there without the filler cap. (waterpump tube diameter is wrong)
Apart from that not much. I lost a part that is important to getting the car running...
