XJ6 Ser 111 Distributor repair
While I taken my cylinder head off for a valve job (good tips from this forum on how to do), notice distributor upper bearing wear to the point of having worn a notch in the pickup. This is a Calif car, so have not found an after-market replacement distributor that is acceptable to Calif. Model is 45DM6 41912A
Does any one have source for Lucas repair/parts manuals to rebuild and set advance(or Retard) curves to proper spec. Lots of Blogs have one adjusting static timing until ping occurs then backing off a few degrees; all the while admitting the original curves from Lucas/Jaguar were suspect any way; and of coarse, you can't expect those 25 year old springs to still be at spec. Several good blogs on replacing bushings and shafts for older Lucas distributors, but no data on EFI Ser 111 XJ6.
I will update all with any good tips that come from this project once back on the road. Thanks David
