Default I stuck with 15" XJ 40 wheels - am very happy

My Series 1 needed spacers in the front and new longer lug nuts on the front only. The front hubs on S1 are different than SII/III. I had to "flatten" the
grease caps as well.

My '71 has had the steering arms shimmed out 1/8" to clear the tie rod ends and add a wider stance. It handles VERY WELL and has a sway bar.

The rear wheels fit perfectly with the stock lug nuts. With later model directional tires it still rides well and this is a SWB car. Still need to remove some of
front spring spacers to lower the front due to all the aluminum in the SBC versus the stock Jaguar... it is almost 200 pounds lighter in the front.

Currently we have chrome wire wheels on our Series 2 XJ6. Rust is starting to show were the wheel nuts are and I am personally getting tired of having punctures with the tubes. After our last puncture a couple of weeks ago I was complaining to our local tyre guy, saying I am thinking of changing wheels and am considering a set of alloys, when he dropped a bomb shell. "I think I know were a complete set of 16" x 7" minilites are. They are brand new, still in the boxes and have been there for about eight years. They were purchased for a customer who traded her car in before collecting them. They are specifically made for your model Jag. If they are still there I can get them for ???????? I'll ring now and find out. I used to work there." A few minutes later he confirmed they were still there in a back room and I could have them for $100 each.
Hen had one sent over and tried it on the car for looks and size, SOLD.

Default Wheels on my 83 SIIIXJ6

I just re-commissioned my 83 XJ6 after 16 years off the road with a crack in the block. Work was performed by renowned Australian Jag whisperer, Mike Roddy in Melbourne. It took 6 months less a week, and cost an absurd amount of money. But, I am the 2nd owner, and the first was one of Australia's top 200 wealthiest men. So I wanted to keep the engine number correct to the car. So wet sleeves were installed. Mike said it was one of the best XJ6's he'd worked on.

Anyway, I had always wanted to have wire wheels on the old girl, so via Australian Wire Wheels (Paul Zazryn) I got a set of MWS (UK) wires, and stored them for 3 years until the re-commissioning was completed.

When the tyre fitter fitted them he made a comment about the wheel centres. So I got a specialist printing company in Brisbane to make me some custom wheel centre stickers. And they look terrific.

And here she is with her great niece, my XJR (that was an "I got well" present to myself after my brush with death and the dreaded "C").

Beautiful collections of Jaguars.

Love the center cap stickers. Do you know what material he used? Any chance you can get the artwork file from him and post it here? Or is he selling them in-line? Loved to get a set but I'm in the US.

You more than welcome to contact him. Wayne Boustead, at Stickerart.com.au (don't forget the ".au" part.....).

His email address is wayne@stickerart.com.au. Copy the picture in my post to remind him. He made them from a picture I supplied (it's from the boot emblem of the XK8) adding in the .2 to the standard 4litre of the XK8 emblem, to my custom radius of 49mm to exactly fit the wheel centres. I am unsure of the material, other than it seems like hard plastic film.

I would be surprised if you couldn't find someone in the states that could do it.

Thanks for the suggestion, Lyndon. I Googled custom stickers and found tons of US companies. Some specialize in weatherproof stickers. On my 79 I have Dayton Wire Wheels with two-eared knock-off spinners with three different Jaguar logo designs between the 4 wheels. I'll post here if I can get some new ones made up.

Jeff
