XJ6 XJ12 Chassis
Hey guys I have a chassis that is designed and fabricated for the XJ6 with the long wheelbase. It was designed to accommodate any engine including the V12. It is designed to utilize the corvette aluminum c5 suspension. I am wanting to sell this chassis with the aluminum frame sections, composite leaf springs, and rear shocks and toe rods. The chassis is built from 4130 chromoly tubing. Chassis built and designed by Racefab Inc., cost from Racefab is $15,000.00. I am selling the chassis with extras above for $5,500.00. Any questions give me a call at (903)330-9529.

These chassis were designed and manufactured to add performance to your street vehicle. The roll over protection actually snaps into the roof pillars and disappears when the interior is put back in place. I don't know if any of these were ever raced however, Racefab inc. Doesn't build vehicles to lose! They have won road race championships with all the major sanctioning bodies. Racefab built these in the early to late 90's. They were built with different suspension packages. Hope this answers your question.

Still make no sense to me because it will have the ride quality of a Corvette with the weight and aero profile of a luxury sedan. That said....recently I walked into a Chrysler dealer that I work for as IT support... there was a bright almost neon purple Charger with a black stripe down the side. I said to the sales manager whats up with this car, he said there's an *** for every seat...next time I was there a few days later ...it was sold.

I've seen your ads in the local Craigslist and like ics, I'm scratching my head.
The XJ is a not a body on frame car, so the cost and effort involved in trying to fit the body panels would be completely out of wack with any semblance of market value. Not to mention that the XJ is not exactly the sort of car one would go racing with.
Good luck

You are correct this is not for everyone. Many of these were built, but only a true Jag enthusist would like this vehicle. As far as the Jag not being a frame car so this is very difficult; no mater how the production vehicle is built in order to put a full tube chassis under it you must first cut the floor out, unless you build the chassis in place. On this vehicle one needs to leave the body intact, cut the floor out and the body will snap over the chassis. Jag performance is not a new concept. If your main goal is to have a cheap ride Jag probably isn't a good choice.

Thanks for enlightening us...and...oh BTW...you posted this in the wrong forum. The chassis you have appears to be for an XJ40 not a Series 1,2, or 3 XJ sedan. This item may garner more interest over there in the XJ40 forum. This confusion often occurs because regular production of the XJ Series 3 stopped in 1987 but a relative few v12 models were still produced until 1992. (mostly for the Canadian market) Starting in late 87 / 88 along came the all new XJ40 which was a completely different platform only available with an I6 engine. This is one of the rare moments in automotive history where the older model was perceived better than the newer model by some...so for this reason both the older v12 model and the newer I6 modern XJ sedan were being produced simultaneously. Curiously... the only part I know of that is interchangeable between the models is the upper and lower ball joints.

Thank you. I do believe the one in the brochure is an xj40 with the more squared off fenders. It was designed to fit the series 2 after 74 and the series 3 to 92. I believe any of the 4 door xj with 112.75" WB will fit. The supercharged V12 that was being used was built by HESCO, same engine used in the Jag GTP sports racers. I like the looks of the XJ series cars better then the xj40. But that is just my opinion. Something about the round bump headlights gave it a great look to me.

You are correct not a new concept! unfortunately I do not have a body. Had one laying around for years but is gone now. You could set it up for racing. Depending on what class you would want to run in, rollcage may need more bracing. would be ideal for high performance street use and take it for track days events. Hope that answered you if not let me know. Thanks
