XJ6 XJ12 Replacement Door Sill Plates
I couldn't help myself and grabbed these off EBay. They will replace my beat-up Aluminum ones. These are from a 1990 VDP V12. Just gorgeous and for $70 for the set I just had to jump. Since I'm the only one that enters the car, they should stay like this forever!
Listing from Ebay.
One of my old ones.

Beautiful!
Did they fit? Looking at the picture you posted, the new ones look as if the holes are in a different position and the notches on the right hand side of the pic looks different.
Or is it just the way the picture was taken.
Just curious. I bought some a couple years ago ( at a much higher price) and I got busy with my XJS and never installed them. Seeing yours, I am going to pull mine off the shelf and look at them.

I've sold a few sets of those, some in pretty rough shape... A client in Canada bought one of the rougher pairs and restored them. I think she used a wet sanding method and got them to look like new. From what I've seen they hold up really well unless they get dinged...

You are correct Sanchez. The end cutouts are slightly different but it does not affect the fitment. The front screw holes all line up, but the rear ones do not. As they are held by SS self tapper screws, I simply positioned them correctly and drilled new holes. If I ever return to the original plates, the old screw holes can be used. Good call!

From memory, the sill plate reinforcements, seen as #7 and #8 in the illustration below, are different for the polished sills plates versus plain aluminum sill plates

If your grabbing some polished plates from a donor car you might wanna grab the reinforcements as well, even if not 100% necessary
